G-string

G-string
  • A G-string is a strip of cloth that’s attached to the front and back of a waistband, and covers the loins, but not the buttocks.

G-string bikini

G-string bikini
  • A bikini panty with virtually no back coverage. It consists of a small front panel held to the body entirely with strings. Worn to prevent panty lines under tight-fitting garments. Less coverage than a thong.

Gabardine

  • A loose coverall (coat or frock) reaching down to the ankles.

Garter

  • A garter is a band of elastic, worn around the leg to hold up a sock or stocking.
  • Also the band worn around the arm to hold up a shirt sleeve.

  • A strap hanging from a garter belt or bustier to support stockings (not pantyhose).

  • Dress gloves extending above the wrist.

Gaucho

  • Wide-legged pants or divided skirt reaching mid-calf and worn with boots.

  • The name given to any undergarment that is close fitting, often boned and usually elasticized, that extends from the waist to below the hips. With the new fabrics and construction techniques available.

Glitterati

  • The highly fashionable celebrities.
  • The beautiful and popular people, the shiny set, the celebrities. (a blend of glitter and literati).

Gloves/mittens

Gloves/mittens
  • A fitted covering for the hand, made of leather, cotton, wool or any other fabric, with a separate sheath for each finger and thumb.
  • Mittens tend to encases the thumb separately from the four fingers.
  • Broad street mittens featuring fingerless gloves with detachable fingers covering.

Gown

Gown
  • A gown could be any of a number of women’s outer garments, such as an elegant formal dress, or a dressing robe, that comes down all the way to the ankles.
