Half sarong skirt
- Cloth which is wrapped around the lower part of the body.
Halter top
- A sleeveless bodice with a high choke or wrap neck. It goes behind the neck and across the back, with the arms, shoulders, and back left bare.
Halter dress
- A bodice style dress that has a band that fastens in the back of the neck, but leaves a lot of the back bare. It goes behind the neck and across the back, with the arms, shoulders, and back left bare.

Hankerchief style
- The hem of a blouse or skirt that is gently jagged to form flowing points.
Haute
- French word that literally means “high”. Haute couture means high fashion, which is a perfectly acceptable term.
- Haute is also used very often instead of hot — Example: “Find out what’s haute for summer.
Hi-waisted brief
- Shapewear with a brief panty and a high waist to give shaping and support to the waistline.
Hip pockets
- Pockets which are sewn on the front of the garment at hip height.
Hipster
- A mid coverage panty, which rests lower on the hip than a brief. The rise is shorter, so the waistline of the hipster is well below the navel.
- A hipster is a perfect solution for wearing under low cut jeans.
Hollywood waistband
- Characterized by a full elasticized back and a side zipper/button closure.
Hoodie
- A hoodie or hoddy is a shirt with a hood. Some hoodies also have a large pocket across the front, and even a logogram. Sometimes hoodies have strings to tighten or loosen the hood.
Hook & eye closure
- A 2-part fastening device consisting of a metal hook that catches over a bar or into a loop.
Hotpant/Culotte
- Hotpants are a perfect everyday alternative and offer comfortable coverage under skirts. They are also popular teamed up with a camisole and worn around as loungewear.
